St. Joseph County Modernizes Video Courtrooms with River Systems
Reliable, Secure, and Future-Ready Courtroom Technology
St. Joseph County partnered with River Systems to replace aging video courtroom systems overly complicated, plagued by high maintenance costs, frequent hardware failures, poor audio and video quality, and components that did not meet government security standards.
Working closely with the county, River Systems delivered a modern, state-approved solution focused on simplicity, reliability, and performance. The refreshed courtrooms feature premium audio and video, integration with the courts’ recording system, and simplified evidence presentation - all designed to improve usability while meeting applicable government security compliance requirements.
Modern Technology with Long-Term Flexibility
To support ongoing modernization, St. Joseph County also adopted River Systems’ Evolution Plan, an equipment-as-a-service (EaaS) model that helps keep courtroom technology current as needs evolve.
Rather than relying solely on traditional equipment replacement cycles, the Evolution Plan provides a flexible path to refresh technology, adopt new products, and eliminates the risk of obsolescence. This proactive approach helps the county plan for changing requirements while maintaining reliable courtroom systems.
Building for the Future
Through its partnership with River Systems, St. Joseph County has established a modern foundation for secure, reliable, and easy-to-use courtroom technology. By combining an updated video courtroom solution with a long-term equipment lifecycle strategy, the county is better positioned to support today’s court operations and adapt to tomorrow’s needs.
River Systems delivers more than a technology upgrade - it provides a smarter, sustainable approach to courtroom modernization.
